Inspiring the Next Generation of Aviators

About Swashplate

Swashplate was co-founded in 2002 by Mike and Jan Becker as a boutique helicopter company with a clear mission: to deliver expert helicopter services with a personal touch. Originally established to focus on helicopter leasing and refurbishment, Swashplate has grown into a trusted name in the aviation industry.

Today, the company owns and operates a Bell 427, offering specialized training in type ratings and upset recovery—a critical skill for pilot safety and confidence. Beyond hands-on flying, Swashplate develops advanced training materials and authors core reference texts that support both new and experienced pilots in deepening their knowledge.

Swashplate also supports private clients with tailored helicopter purchases, including training and type ratings as part of a complete service package. Additionally, the company provides expert consultancy across a range of aviation topics, including safety, insurance, and pilot training.

With decades of experience and a passion for aviation excellence, Swashplate continues to be a go-to resource for both pilots and industry professionals seeking quality, knowledge, and trusted guidance.
